The world’s first carpet sweeper, the BISSELL Carpet
Sweeper, was patented in 1876 by Melville Bissell. The Bissell
Perfect sweep, which picked up crumbs, dirt, pet hair and
more, was so innovative and effective that its basic design
is still used more than 128 years later by BISSELL Homecare,
Inc. And now, innovators at BISSELL are introducing a new
twist on the old classic sweeper: turbo power.
The new Perfect Sweep TURBOTM is a cordless sweeper with
a powerful, motorized brush roll. Powered by a rechargeable
battery, the sweeper’s motorized brush roll and dual
edge cleaning brushes maximize cleaning performance. The
Perfect Sweep TURBO can be used to sweep up dry messes on
any floor surface – from carpets and rugs to bare floors – and
its easy to empty dirt container eliminates the need for
messy dust pans. The sweeper is also multi-functional, easily
converting from an upright to a handheld sweeper for above
floor cleaning.
"We are always looking for ways to make even our best innovations
better," said Jim Krzeminski, BISSELL’s senior vice
president of product development, sales and marketing. “The
addition of a motorized brush roll and dual edge cleaning
brushes maximizes the Perfect Sweep TURBO cleaning power
beyond that of our traditional sweepers. And, we’ve
modernized the sweeper’s heavy-duty steel construction
with a sleek new design, giving consumers our best performing
and best looking sweeper yet."
The suggested retail price of the Perfect Sweep TURBO is
$39.99. It will be available at retailers nationwide in September
2004.
