Good Housekeeping recently announced the winners of its
11th annual “Good Buy” Awards – recognizing
ground-breaking technology and innovation – at the
Sofitel in New York. Editor-in-chief Ellen Levine presented
awards to eight new, affordable products that help to make
consumers’ lives easier. And we are pleased to announce
that the BISSELL SpotBot made the short list!
"Naturally we were thrilled to hear that Good Housekeeping
had identified the SpotBot as one of an elite group of the
'most inventive and consumer-friendly products' on the market," said
Jim Krzeminski, BISSELL's executive vice president of product
development, sales and marketing. "Winning this endorsement
from one of the country’s largest and most trusted
magazines is further testament to the quality engineering
and innovation behind our handsfree compact cleaner."
The Good Housekeeping Institute selected eight new, innovative
products based on their ingenuity, value and exceptional
performance. Each product selected for a Good Buy Award was
required to meet the following criteria: satisfy a well-established
household need; be innovative in technology or design; be
affordable to consumers; and perform well in Good Housekeeping
Institute tests.
"With so many new products on the market, the search for
those that are both cleverly-designed and useful is always
difficult," said John Kupsch, Technical Director, Good Housekeeping
Institute. "After many hours of testing and evaluation, these
are truly the best of the best and we’re pleased to
welcome them to the club."
The Good Buy Award winners will appear in the January 2006
issue of Good Housekeeping, on newsstands December 13, 2005.
The other innovative products that made this year’s
list include the AOSafety Select Safety Glasses, the GE Profile
Dishwasher with SmartDispense, the Lite Cylinder Co.’s
Propane Cylinder, Procter & Gamble’s Tide to Go
Instant Stain Remover, the Simmons Beautyrest with HealthSmart
Bed, Target Pharmacies’ ClearRx Bottle, and the Whirlpool
Brand Fabric Freshener.
