After making the first "suction sweeper" from nothing
but a tin soap box, a fan, a sateen pillowcase and a broom
handle, Mr. Murry Spangler would be proud of the advancements
made in the Hoover carpet cleaners of today. When he sold
the patent, one year later, to W.H. "Boss" Hoover
in 1908, things slowly fell into place. Retaining Spangler
as a partner and hiring an assembly crew, the vacuum that
is "Hoover" began its journey.
Engineers have continually designed new and improved methods
of cleaning carpets with the Hoover vac. In 1926, they invented
what would become the Quadraflex agitator (beater bar) that
is used in most models of the Hoover carpet vacuum cleaners.
They also made the "firsts" of the disposable paper
bag, the headlight on the vacuum, side-mounted attached hose
and the self-propelled feature.
Under its parent company, Maytag, the Hoover brand of carpet
cleaning vacuums have established some of the best reviews.
It has become one of the most recognized names in the vacuum
cleaning market. Made with quality, reflected by excellence,
the carpet cleaner vacs of Hoover have proven to be one of
the best in its class.
With models including the traditional uprights, canisters
and hand vacs, the Hoover company has exceeded consumers desires.
Add to it the Floormate, central vac, stick, steam cleaner
vac and commercial carpet cleaners, and you've got plenty
to choose from!
